Performance, Recording and Producing
TCW employs professionals with a wide range of experience in the music industry, to motivate and empower all participants to create their own original material.Working in association with the Urban Music and Arts (U.M.A) we are able to design exciting and innovative projects, to enable groups to vocalise issues and express themselves through Music, Movement and Dance. Workshops provide an insight into the industry and the necessary skills to succeed. They are a powerful way to motivate, inspire and focus energy in a positive and non-competitive way.
Different skills drawn from the range of workshops we offer can be combined to explore issues such as crime, violence and drugs abuse, or to simply have fun and produce something new.
Examples of some of the workshops we run include:
DJ, Mixing & Scratching
’Hands-on’ experience of working with up-to-date techniques, exploring the process of creating a record, from production to promotion and distribution.Breakdancing and Bodypopping
Award winning performers demonstrate their skills and give step-by-step instruction in methods of movement and advice on the ways to pursue a professional career in urban dance.MC and Rap
Highly accomplished artists explore techniques of composition, lyric writing, rhyme, music production and self-promotion.Rapport (rapping in other languages)
In this specialised workshop, rap artists work alongside language specialists to create meaningful lyrics in other languages. This is an excellent method in which to study languages and to celebrate different cultures and traditions, in a fun and accessible way. Workshops can also be designed to include creative literacy, such as rapping children?s stories and nursery rhymes.
