Film

Film-making Courses are designed to provide all participants with new skills, confidence and collaborative creative working experience, and an insight into the media industry.
Groups develop their ideas into scripts and storyboard their own scenes for pre-production. Participants learn techniques of camera operation, sound recording and lighting, giving them ‘hands-on’ experience of shooting their own film, in a location of their choice.
Those who wish to learn editing skills are able to take part in post-production editing, on a one-to-one basis. Our editing suite includes a High Definition system, incorporates professional editing software and DVD creation facilities.
Below are some workshops and project ideas that we can offer, or please contact us to discuss a bespoke programme.
Creative Partnerships
Do you work with young people, and would like to run a film making project with them?
Would you like them to explore a topic such as gang culture, knife crime, or binge drinking?
Would you like to capture their opinions on a subject, or facilitate them to make a documentary on a subject that affects their lives?
Our experienced film makers can lead on projects such as these; running workshops on film making skills, working with them to turn their ideas into a script and storyboard, and running film shoots where each young person will have a go at different film making jobs.
Our creative partnerships have included Tower Hamlets Youth and Community Service, YMCA, Lambeth Youth Offending Service, Southwark Council, and Connexions. (See project examples below)

Partnership Projects
Tower Hamlets NEET Project
Working in partnership with Tower Hamlets Youth and Community Services, we ran a documentary film making course for 15 young people who were not in education, employment or training. The documentaries created look at what the borough provides for these young people, how well it works, and capture the opinions and needs of the young people themselves.YMCA
The Complete Works Film Department worked with YMCA on a film about the dangers of drink and drugs. The young people involved wrote, directed, acted in and produced a realistic drama, and accompanying facts and interviews to be used as an educational tool for teenagers. The final product – The Grass Isn’t Greener is now being used by YMCA staff.Lambeth Youth Offending Service
We worked with Lambeth Youth Offending Service to produce a short film that was sent to young people’s mobile phones to inform them of the procedure they should adopt if the Police were to stop them suspecting they may be carrying a firearm. The film is called Nemesis and it focuses on the differences between playing computer games and reality.Hiring our staff
